Briars Rugby Union has seen significant growth in the past two years under the committee, now chaired by the new club Chairman Ashley Walsh. For 2009, the Club is fielding 5 sides from 1st - 5th grade as well as Colts Under 21s and an under 85's side. Excelling at Rugby is only one of our successes. Our hospitality is legendary and our tours both local and overseas have enticed players from all over to come and play for The Briars. Whether for our quality sport or the amiable social environment, our players are welcomed from all walks of life and at all levels of sport. New players are always welcome.

Briars Rugby Union is a founding Club of NSW Suburban Rugby Union Competition. The Club last year has moved into 2nd Division, after winning the Club Championships for 2006.
