Briars…6 Competition

"The Gerard Price Charcoal Chicken Trophy"

6....6....6

We are are not talking about the number of the beast or some religious connotation, it is the annual Gerard Price Charcoal Chicken 6 hitting competition won regularly for the last 40 years by Gerard Price and whoever partners him. All pairings must be sent to Scott Brennan at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  as an official “6’s pairing”.

Controversy surrounding last years top pair with the top scoring pair disqualified because they did not meet the criteria of at least each pair hitting at least one six. This year will allow the bowlers to have sixes hit off their bowling deducted from the tally. This would take last year's winning tally from 31 to -4.

Competition Rules
1)  Only a "6" hit this season will count. A single digit “6” in the book counts in any fashion, this includes overthrows and scores greater than 6 and a season's worth of smugness and bragging rights.

2) 6’s “scored” in the nets do not count……... ever!!!
